COVID-19 and Temporary Store Closures

Since we closed our stores last month (see memo below), the Governor has issued and extended a statewide shutdown with a shelter in place and stay at home order through May 31. Given this mandate, our stores will remain closed until the order is lifted. The situation continues to evolve and we will monitor the situation and only reopen once it is safe to do so. To further comply with the order and to help slow the spread of the virus, we will also be shutting down our warehouse and delivery operations until further notice.
We are open online. You are still able to make purchases on our website, and we’ll notify you when we are able to schedule delivery/pick-up upon the lifting of the government mandate.
The health and safety of our employees and customers at HomeWorld has always been our top priority, and as members of the community we want to make sure that we do all we can to slow the spread of COVID-19. We are eager to fully serve the community again as soon as possible, and will keep you updated as we know more about our plans to reopen.

From the day my grandfather C. S. Wo opened our first store on North King St. in 1909, taking care of our employees and customers has been the top priority. Over the past few weeks, we have all been impacted by the spread of COVID-19. The situation is rapidly changing, and we want to make sure that we do everything possible to protect our employees and customers and to do our part in slowing the spread of COVID-19 in our communities.
After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to temporarily close all of our retail stores starting 5pm Saturday, March 21, with a tentative plan to reopen on April 5. During this time, we will provide benefits and compensation to our impacted employees.
While our stores will be closed, you will still be able to shop with us 24/7 at homeworld.com and we will continue to offer our warehouse pick-up and delivery service, as local regulations allow. We are also taking extra safety precautions in our assembly and delivery processes to protect our teams and our customers.
PREPARING YOUR FURNITURE
In our warehouses, we have enhanced our normal course of health and safety protocols. We have increased the frequency of cleaning and disinfecting our warehouse and delivery equipment, and our team members are also using additional safety precautions while handling your furniture.
RECEIVING DELIVERY OF YOUR FURNITURE
For Home Deliveries, our teams are taking extra measures as well to prevent any unintentional spread of illness. As with our warehouses, they will be using hand sanitizers and disinfectant wipes between each delivery and they will be regularly disinfecting their interiors and outside handles of their vehicles.
We are eager to fully serve the community again as soon as we can. With the help of local health officials we will continue to assess when it will be safe to reopen our stores and will keep you updated as we know more.
